Headed to Shoreham at 12:30. 4 or 5 people out only. It was low tide and
absolutely firing!! But very few people there? I guess all sickies etc used
last friday! I rigged 4m and it was hugely powered up, another maxed out
day, more gusty than saturday perhaps, but better waves. Pretty small on
the inside with lovely flat zone for cranking gybes. Inside faces were
probably 4-5 feet. The best rides were way out though, beyond the
fishermens' markers. There may be a sand bank I suppose, causing the deep
water swell to rear up. I had ride after ride down the line on big
mackers!! Looked up on one to see the lip breaking at proper logo high.
MEATY. But it was still south coast swell riding, so laid out turns, cut
backs and gentle top turns were in order. Pick the right swell and 100m+
rides were to be had. Easy back upwind too, I was the proverbial pig in
sh*t!! Gave it 2.5 hours before sneaking back to work.
